What is the mold?
Mold, various molds, and tools used in industrial production for injection molding blow molding, extrusion, die-casting or forging, smelting, stamping, and other methods to obtain the required products. In short, a mold is a tool used to make molded articles. This tool is composed of various parts, and different molds are composed of different parts. It is mainly through the change of the physical state of the formed material to achieve the processing of the object shape. Known as the "mother of industry".
Under the action of external force, the blank becomes a tool with specific shape and size. It is widely used in stamping, die forging, cold heading, extrusion, P / M parts pressing, pressure casting, as well as the forming and processing of engineering plastics, rubber, ceramics, and other products. The die has a specific contour or inner cavity shape. The application of the contour shape with the edge can make the blank separate (punching) according to the contour shape. The solid shape of the blank can be obtained by using the inner cavity shape. Generally, the die consists of two parts: the moving die and the fixed die (or the punch and the female die). The two parts can be separated and combined. Take out the parts when they are separated, and fill the blank into the mold cavity for forming when they are closed. The die is a precision tool with complex shape, which bears the expanding force of blank, and has high requirements for structural strength, rigidity, surface hardness, surface roughness, and machining accuracy. The development level of die production is one of the important marks of mechanical manufacturing level.
